Fall Has Arrived!

September has been a whirlwind... I  went to the Madison Quilt Show and then went to Onalaska, WI for the WAHCE State Convention.  Pictures below are of some of the places I visited.  Of course they are out of order, because for some reason Blog Spot doesn't like to upload all of my pictures at once....
The first day of the state convention consisted of tours of the area.  I went on a tour of a Norwegian settlement, which was interesting, and there was pie and  coffee at the end... so who can complain about that!

Mark and I went to the Wo-Zah-Wa  (Have Fun) Festival in the Dells on Saturday.  100,000 people looking at crafts, and other fun stuff.  Most interesting thing we saw was a man with his dog in a carrier on his chest and another man pushing a dog stroller.  The crafts were nice too, but the people watching was great fun!

One of the quilts I found interesting at the Madison Quilt Show... and actually there were 2 versions of this quilt in the show.

This Quilt was made by Pat Nieman, a member of Material Girls, for a  palliative care patient.

Had to have a picture of an "antique" quilt!

Last Days of Summer 2011

The last days of Summer 2011 have been busy ones.  Mark worked on putting the bowl Annie bought in Prague back together and here are the results.
Annie and Justin joined us at Molly Kuhnz's wedding on August 13th.  It was a beautiful wonderful wedding. Unfortunately the pictures i took were lost when my hard drive crashed.  I did post pictures from the wedding on FaceBook so you can see them there.

Our kitchen renovation has came to an end as summer ended also.... here are some pictures of our beautiful new kitchen.... where we are cooking and baking again in style!

Sink foot pedal.... allows us to turn water on and off without touching the faucet.

Gwennie was fixed at the end of August.... and has had to wear the "cone of shame" for two weeks.  She has been a good sport about it, but is looking forward to running free and swimming in the lake.

Here Mark is making a chicken stir fry on the new Super Burner... it was great....

Stella modeled the Cone so Gwenny could get an idea of exactly how it worked.
Mike and his gang came to celebrate the Labor Day Weekend.  George just loves Gwennie.... unfortunately he is allergic to her and really shouldn't play with her as closely he does!
Meg and I shared conversation... and dessert.
The weather was not wonderful.... but we made the best of it.  Patrick took out his bike and got some riding in on the driveway.
George enjoyed running up and down the driveway... and splashing in puddles.
Becca was one with the wind!
Michael, the Triathlon Athlete got in some jump roping
Meg worked on teaching Becca to jump rope

Mike and Meg practiced twirling the jump rope, but alas, no one was able to jump it.

Becca thought jumping in puddles was great fun!
Patrick was the recipient of the French Silk Pie beater and spatula
                                                           He wears chocolate quite well
We got out the crayons and some newsprint and did some drawing and coloring

And of course there was lots and lots of reading.  Here Grandma Dorothy takes a turn reading to Becca and Patrick.
A little rain didn't stop Mark from grilling our burgers... he brought the grill right up to the door!
Grandpa Hatton enjoying time with the family during a break in the Notre Dame Game

                                                                          Snack time!

Michael found the Leggos and had some fun building
Meg and George posed for Grandma

                                                        George loves the camera
More last pictures before starting the long trek home.....

Mary Kay enjoying the antics

Grandma enjoying leftover pizza for breakfast

Michael wanted to entertain us by showing us his childrens' gymnastic abilities
Fall is upon us..... kids are back in school, boats are being pulled out of the water, and life is slowing down.
Hope everyone is happy, healthy and having fun!
