Highlight of my week..... DRIVING ON THE LAKE

We see cars driving on the lake night and day, day and night, all winter long, and today I said to Mark let's give it a try. I've led a full and wonderful life, what's the worst thing that could happen I asked? And he responded that we could fall through the ice and drown... so we weighed our options and drove onto the lake.........
Luckily I had my camera with me (I almost always do!)

A car headed off the lake... hope he doesn't know something we don't!

Mark was scared, but he drove on because he loves me and wants me to be happy!

This is our house (a very very fine house, with 2 dogs in the yard...) from the lake

A friendly ice fisherman on the lake....

Maybe they don't hate their wives!

You can see a trailer on the lake...winter camping!

Oh Baby It's Cold Outside

The weather in Wisconsin has been COLD... 25 below zero ... so we have been bundling up

And huddling together for warmth....

Outside is a place we see through the window.....

We have been trying to amuse ourselves with crafts and projects and reading.... this is a table runner I am working on

Our brave friends came up from Illinois to visit us....

Kevin and Paul relaxed while

Mark and Paula cooked dinner (and I took pictures and set the table!)

I did make a lovely blueberry stuffed French Toast for breakfast on Sunday

I am still eating it because noone liked it!

After breakfast we worked on felting a purse that Paula knit

The purse started out BIG

We washed it in hot water and woolite.... checking it every 5 minutes or so.....

And this is how it turned out!

Then on Monday Chris arrived for dinner!

Stella greeted her boy!

And so did I!
STAY WARM AND BE HAPPY!!!!

New Year..... New Dog Beds!

As promised here are the pictures of the girls on their new dog beds.... they seem to be comfy .. I didn't try them out in the store, but I did lay on them at home

Stella and Sally certainly look content

Stella is thinking about suggesting that Sally go on a diet....
Of course they don't sleep on them at night unless I move them to outside of our bedroom door.
They take their responsibility of guarding us quite seriously, giving up their own comfort to be close to us.

The Dump and other fun things to do in Adams County

I know many of you have heard us speak fondly of our weekly trips to the dump... so I thought I would share some pictures of our Saturday Morning haunt with you.....

Welcome to the Dump!

This is the new hut they built for the Garbage police... so they can stay warm in between harassing the good citizens of Adams County as to what paper goes in what bin.

They do have nice signs... but sometimes people just need a little guidance

This is the dumping spot for metal stuff. Sometimes there is good stuff there, but Mark won't let me take any of it home.

Here is Mark putting the cardboard in the cardboard dumpster. Note that some people do not follow the rules and break down their cardboard.... oh where are the garbage police when you need them? (In the hut staying warm)

This is a fun game... Toss the Garbage!

Not to toot my horn, but I am quite good at it!

We had a lot of garbage ... all of our Christmas stuff.... too bad you can't be there with us and smell the aroma!

We do other fun stuff too.... like take pictures of the dogs....

And sometimes friends are brave enough to visit... but they bring so much stuff with them!

Luckily they think taking pictures of our dogs and us is fun too! Unfortunately they got here too late to go to the dump with us... maybe next time!
This is a squirrel. He posed for this picture.

I think he heard that there were nuts in the area......

Stay tuned for next week's edition, when Jan and Mark go shopping for Dog Beds!
