What I Am Thankful For

I started thinking about all of the people who I am so blessed to have in my life...and that I am Thankful for, and I kind of got carried away.... so some old, some new pictures... just know that I love all of you, and I certainly wouldn't be me if you weren't part of my life!

Betsy and Dick (with Becca) -- great friends who taught us about the joys of tailgaiting, camping and of course SHOPPING!

Paula -what other friend would smile like this because her crazy friends Jan and Mark are taking her to the dump! And teach her how to garden...

Sally the faithful, loving dog

I am thankful for adult kids... Chris, Allen, Kevin and Steph who came to spend the fourth of July weekend with us... here they are waiting for the fireworks to begin!

Stephanie, Chris' girlfriend (I think i can call her that now) came for the fourth of July and fit right in with the group!

And here we all are "Mad as Hell" and plotting to overthrow the Roman Guard for stopping us from having our fun!

Mark and His Mom -- Yeah I am Thankful for them!

Kevin -- so Thankful for Kevin ---
I hope you are watching lots of Law and Order!

My Markie... with his dad... wouldn't be me without him!

Marita and Alan... what can you say about these two who will come all the way from Boston to sleep in a camper, and risk being swamped in a boat to be with us?

Tom even brought fireworks... I think he got to shoot at least one off! And he came all the way from Minnesota (OK it's not that far!) but he had to sleep in a tent.

And I am so Thankful to have Mary Kay as a sister.... here she is loving Tom.

And Laura is a great sister too... and she understands all about being the youngest!

Nickie... what would we all do without Nickie? He sure keeps us young!

And I am greatful for Mom and Dad-- you have to keep laughing!

I don't know why we didn't put 80 candles on the cake... Mom could have handled it!

Michael, Becca and Patrick... yeah, I am really happy that they are a part of my life!
(Meg really doesn't like to have her picture taken... but she should be in the picture too!)
I did find a picture of Meg and Becca when they came to visit us this summer...

I thought this was a good picture of Laura..... Ralph doesn't like to be in pictures either!

Bruce and Deb -- so glad I have a sister I can get in trouble with!

Ah, here is Ralph.... i even caught him smiling! (I upload all of these pictures and then i am surprised when they come up on the screen as I am writing the commentary. Writing a blog is a lot of work, you know!) But anyway I am so glad Ralph is a part of our family. He brings so much to our family in his quiet way... and he (like many of the men in our family) is a wonderful cook!

Some of us women aren't too bad around the kitchen either! I for instance am great at cleaning up after all of these wonderful chefs!
Pam has been my friend the longest, and knows the most secrets, and can tell the most tales... but I am Thankful that she is tactful and knows how to keep those things to herself... and maybe it is good that she still lives in Chicago! Pat Caldwell (Pam's Mom) has been a big part of my life too, and I always remember not to assume someone is going to turn left just because they have their turn signal on... and many other Patisms...
Michael... first born child, so thankful I didn't mess him up too much! I know I made a lot of mistakes, but he seems to have been able to overcome them.
Patrick and Shotzie.... one of my favorite pictures.... being a grandmother is so much fun... and I feel so loved!

Looks like Becca is going to go into her grandpa's business. Oh, Man, it is so great to have grandkids!

And again, I am thankful that I married such a wonderful man

Thanksgiving WEEK 2009

Annie came up to Wisconsin on the day before Thanksgiving afteer working 4 nights in a row... Sure am Thankful for that!

And she played WII Tennis with Mark, so he would have some competition!

Annie and I woke up Thanksgiving morning and discovered we both had on the same PJ's!

I love "girl talk"!

The Girls! Don't tell Sally she is a dog.

I am so thankful for Shotzie! Our first "grandpup"

We spent Thanksgiving with the Kuhnz's... and of course Cindy had goody bags for us.

Here is Annie's....

But we had surprises for Cindy too!

Annie got her a Llama scarf from Bolivia, and i got her a Bundt Pan and the Movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding... so she can prepare for her new roles as mother of the groom and bride!

Here I am with just one of the items in my bag... a pair of rubber gloves that are "so me"! Good to have a friend who knows me so well!

Chris' bag was full of things Anthony has outgrown, he is getting married you know!

And Christopher has no plans to ever grow up... Thank God! What a shame it would be for Chris to loose his sheer joy in life!

Mark's present was a puzzle box.... which took him slightly more than 5 seconds to get open!

Anthony is one of those chefs I appreciate!

He made a wonderful mushroom gravy and his stuffing was FABULOUS!!!!

Cindy and Brownie, taking a brief rest from preparing our Thanksgiving Feast...

Annie took a turn with dog duty... there were 4 dogs in/out/in/out/in/out of the house!

I am so thankful to have such a beautiful daughter... who knows when I am worrying and calls me...I taught her well!

Ah, Stella... she can/is a pest at times, but she comes through and sits on my legs when I need her!

Chris and Annie... I was so proud of them! They got up from the table and started clearing the table and putting food away etc... and I didn't even have to ask!

{Grandpa Bob would be so impressed!}

Bunner --- I love ya Bunner!

I am so thankful that we all have a sense of humor... especially Gus, who had the flu on Thanksgiving. He came down to pray with us and get his Thanksgiving meal {jello and gingerale} and we all had masks on so we wouldn't get his bug!

Shotzie is not color blind.... she choose GIGI'S Pink Crate over her plain one!

Chris and Mark both love a good book!

I am Thankful that I know all of you.... (even if I don't have your picture here) you are important to me. Life would not be very interesting without all of you out there! Even the people who come upon this blog by accident... Hey I am Thankful you are out there!
Be happy, be kind, laugh, cry, and for God's Sake: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR!!!!!
