Fourth of July 2011

So, I have tried to put this post up several times, and it seems I don't understand how Blog Spot is working.... the pictures are posted last to first... and upside down, so just  bear with me... Here George is playing in the sand under his mother's watchful eye.  He really loved the sand and water and although he wasn't fond of sleeping, he was delightful to most of us!
Tom -- he came, he chopped and he took the dogs for long walks... it was great to see him, and he was very helpful.  We love Tom!
Kevin --- I love Kevin, and I love his beard.  It is just fine the way it is.... and he can chop a water mellon up in record time!
Grandma Hatton is my hero... what a lady!
Debbie is always fun to be with.  I wish she lived closer... but it is always great to share time with      her.
Mary Kay and George enjoyed each other's company
Debbie got her turn to read to Becca and Pat
Grandma got her turn to read to herself!
Mike and Meg shared a moment with each other.......
Tom helped prepare potato salad, and he has Grandma's coleslaw recipe down  pat!
Mary, God Bless her, chopping potatoes for the Potato Salad... she is always working and smiling!
Mark, my love, working.... it's a lot of work to have 19 people for a weekend, and he does most of it!
Kevin enjoyed  some solitude on the deck
Bruce was the captain of the boat and took people fishing and skiing
He and Alan get ready to go fishing
Kevin shares a special moment with his mom
Mark gets to relax, as the sun sets over Lake Camelot
Mark's turn to read to Becca and Patrick. They drop everything if someone is reading....
I love these pictures of Marita and Alan sitting on the dock.  They are so good together... True Love!

The Peanut Gallery
Mark and Mary K created a wonderful Strawberry Pie for us
                                                                        It was delicious!
Deb taught us how to hula hoop... I have to practice, I have lost the technique, but next year I hope to have it back!

A great time was had by all (I hope!)
Bruce showing us is best side
The Fourth of July Family get together was lots of fun this year!  Although we all missed Chris and Steph, who have moved to California (but promise to come next year, and Annie and Justin.  Annie is in Germany with Mary and Rebecca Dale seeing some wonderful women's soccer at the World Cup.  I have been watching more soccer than i have in many years... Great sport!

Mike, Meg, and their wonderful children arrived on Friday, which was a hot hot day.  So we had to go to the beach and swim right away!   Pat and Becca were excited to meet Gwennie, and a bit scared of her.

George was so excited to see Grandpa Mark......and his lap was just the place to be!
Grandma and grandpa Hatton and Aunt Mary observed the antics and were so glad they could sit back and watch the action unfold.
Alan, his wife Marita and Kevin Hatton arrived Saturday... coming the farthest all the way from Boston.
                                                     George really liked our sandbox.....
Mark brought his Milwaukee Tools Big Radio down to the lake and George and I danced to the toons
I think I was leading, but George didn't seem to mind!
George and I also enjoyed jumping in and out of the water!
Meg really enjoyed playing with Gwennie

Maybe she is getting closer to wanting a puppy?
Pat and his dad sharing a moment... I wish
I could remember what he was pointing at.
We had a lot of conversation.... and relaxation
Marita, Alan's wife was a blessing... she helped entertain the kids and she is so easy to be with....
It was great to see Tom and Kevin, who both turned out to be great  helpers in the kitchen
                                                        Becca loves her Grandpa Mark
                                                                    And he loves her
George was a great conversationalist, although we weren't really sure what he was saying most of the   time.

Yeah family, yeah 4th of July!!!! Hope to have other great family times... love you all!
