Other Summer Activities ....

The Road Less Travelled (These pictures belong with the Wild Cat Mountain Weekend Pictures, but I can't get them to move down to that point in this posting, so you will have to scroll back up here when you get there!)

It has been a really busy summer..... I didn't realize just how busy until I started uploading these pictures. If your picture isn't here it's because we haven't seen you yet... but there is still time! Let's get together, yeah, yeah! (Name the movie that song is from and win a prize!)

These are pictures of the most ingenius Bunco Booby Prize yet! They are his and hers slippers made out of Kotex Sanitary Napkins!!!! I did not win them, but I did get pictures!

Bunco in July at Dawn's.... here Dawn is modeling our new Bunco shirts.....

Paula came to visit, and teach me how to garden. But first we wanted to take her to our world famous Rome Dump! We even let her sit with the garbage! See what you're missing by not coming to visit!

And we let her toss in a bag!

Here she is emptying the recyclables... doesn't she look like she is having a blast?!

Paula brought me some beautiful plants and helped me do some much needed gardening in the front yard

Pretty in Pink!

Interspersed are pictures of the dogs... another of my hobbies! (Other activities this summer included scooping poop, both inside and outside the house, chasing dogs through neighbors yards, and breaking up dog fights, both inside and outside the house!)

Shotzie posing in her kennel..... It's a good thing puppies and babies are so cute or they would never survive! [Sort of shows how some days of my summer have been going... they seem to have a mind of their own!]

I made a trip to Oshkosh to celebrate Kathy Stromske's retirement from UCS ... we (Sue Englebert, Carrie Edwards, Kathy and I) had a 4 hour lunch!

It was great to see these ladies and catch up on everyone's lives... more talking than picture taking took place.

Mark and Shotzie... cuddle time!

Pam and Carrie stopped by on the way to Girl Scout Camp, (Ok it wasn't exactly on the way...) but it sure was great to see them! We went to the Taste of Rome, saw the parade, bought jewelry at the craft fare and even sold food tickets! Weather didn't cooperate, but that seems to be the summer of 2009's way.

Carrie on the deck

Pam and I trying to look skinny

But it's hard to do when Mark is cooking for you!

But we're still babes.... middle aged babes, but babes!

Pam and Carry left around noon on Sunday so Carrie could experience her first week at Girl Scout Camp. (Something I never did!) The weather wasn't great for her either... but Pam reports she wants to try again next year!

Hope they can stop "on the way" and see us again.... if not sooner!

I love the long goodby... don't you?

Another cute Shotzie picture, showing just how talented and double jointed she is!

Camping with the Brownson's at Wild Cat Mountain.... this is the road to Wild Cat, very twisty and steep hills, sort of like the roads in St. Thomas, only you get to drive on the "right" side of the road..... Notice that we use our Garmin to navigate.....

But sometimes Garmin fails us... she fell off of the window on the way to the Park, and when i reattached her she told us to turn down this (pictured above) sandy dirt road. I didn't think we should go down the road, since we were pulling the trailer, and we had been to Wild Cat Mt. before and hadn't gone down a dirt road before... but we have Garmin this year, and she told us to turn on this road, so we did!

And it was a beautiful, albeit challenging road..... See pictures at beginning of this post!
The bikes fell off the camper twice... we almost bottomed out... but we did have a great adventure, and if you are ever in the area do turn down Wellington Road, even if Garmen doesn't tell you to!

We road on the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail with Theresa and her fiance Ross

Amy
Mark

and Brian!
We had such a great time with the Brownson's that I forgot to take pictures.. but there is always next year, because we hope to make it an annual event.
New solar powered LED lights.... Mark bought them and decided to try them out in the flower pot

They are kind of neat!
Stella wants to be on my blog too!

Faith in Action Brat Fry
It's not all fun and games... sometimes I have to work!

Karl manning the grill

And you can't have a brat fry without a bake sale!
At least not in Adams County!

News Flash: Chris can now knee board and Ski on one Ski... sorry no pictures.

Love the picture of Pam and Jan, close up. Did Carrie go to Juniper Knoll Camp? I LOVED it when I was a girl scout. I even worked there one summer as a counselor 1976.
