Grandma Hatton's 80th Birthday

Grandma Hatton turns 80 tomorrow.. May 11 th, so we had to have a celebration of this momentous event. Plans started months ago... but when we arrived at Mary Kay's on Friday Evening we knew Saturday was going to be a busy day ... so we got up early and LET THE COOKING BEGIN!

Mary Kay prepared the fruit salad (note it was served in the exclusive Hatton Watermellon bowl!) and Mark prepared his two sauces for the beef tenderloin... this is the one with horseradish.

Laura was also busy at her house baking the birthday cake and lemon dessert (I do want that recipe!) but unfortunately I wasn't there to take pictures.

Only later did we find out that it was Ralph's birthday too!

And so did the Washington Hatton's

So we had lots of Surprises!!!!

Dinner was served on Mary Kay's good china and crystal, and was wonderful!

After dinner Becca wanted to play Repunzel... but alas, her hair is still not quite long enough!

The birthday song was sung by the Hatton Family Singers, in a traditional fashion...

And Mom proved she can still blow out the candles with the best of them!

The following morning, Great Aunt Mary Kay entertained Patrick and Becca with her dragon collection,

Mark demonstrated the proper use of a ladies hand fan....

And Mike let Becca balance on the palm of his hand (which was being held over his head)

A wonderful time was had by all! Happy Birthday Mom, and Ralph too!

First Signs of Spring

Spring has Sprung! It is warm and lovely here... flowers are blooming

We are going for walks and seeing Eagles and nature.............

Bunco Gals and Family Fun!

I hosted Bunco for the first time....A fun game of chance, you don't have to pay attention to anything but the conversation!

This is the table runner I made for Annie... couldn't get the picture to go where I wanted it!

Marty and Patti were smart and stayed in the kitchen with the food.....

I even got Bunco... so that's why I am holding the pink dice! (If it is one is it a dye? or die?) So much to learn, so little time!

Rhonda really knows what to do with the pink thing! A good (and loud!) time was had by all.....

I barely had time to recuperate and put the house back together before Mary, Mom and Dad came for the Tridium (Easter Weekend!)

We were supposed to be fasting, but Mary wanted to make scones.... really yummy scones, with white chocolate and rasberries.....

She mixed them by hand and arranged them "just so" on the cookie sheet... as per the instructions
(Mary is like Mark, and she follows directions and rules!)
